The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults

Are you thinking about joining the Catholic Church? Would you like to begin the journey of becoming a member? Do you want to explore the Catholic faith in a deeper way? If so, you are invited to join the The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, or the OCIA (formerly known as RCIA).

The OCIA is not just a “sign-up” to become Catholic; it is a no-obligation opportunity to pursue truth and the meaning of life, to seek answers to eternal questions, and to learn about the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church.

OCIA is a process designed to orient your heart toward God and help you discover the Catholic faith. It offers a chance to learn the basics of what it means to be Catholic, ask questions, and find ways to open your life to Jesus. Through this process, you will prepare to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. Along the way, you will identify your spiritual longings with those of Catholic Christians who have been following Jesus for the past 2,000 years.

You are not alone on this journey; you will be in the company of others who are also seeking truth and a deeper relationship with Jesus. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Deacon Mark Mueller at mmuel18747@aol.com or 757-746-4782.

Jesus said: "Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture says: 'Rivers of living water will flow from within him.‘” (John 7:37-38)
